For the information of all registered voters under the consular jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in Japan (Kanto, Nagano, Shizuoka, Okinawa and the northern areas of Japan), the following procedures will be observed in the conduct of the 2019 National Elections:
- The election period for overseas voting is from 13 April to 13 May 2019. End of voting is at 7 pm on 13 May 2019, Japan time.
- Only those whose names are on the Certified List of Voters (CLOV) may vote. The list of voters is available at http://tokyo.philembassy.net/08oav/certified-list-of-overseas-voters-clov/
- The mode of voting will be postal voting. The Embassy will send mail packets containing instructions, return envelopes and ballots to voters listed in the CLOV. The address where the ballots will be mailed is the address provided by the registered voter when he/she registered for overseas voting during the registration period. If the registered voter changed his/her address, please visit the nearest Japan Post (in person or via the Japan Post website) to notify the change of address so that all mails will be sent to the recent address of the resident.
- When accomplishing ballots, voters are encouraged to closely follow the “Instructions to Voters” guide found inside the mailing packet. All accomplished ballots should be mailed back to the Embassy using the ballot envelope provided in the mailing packet and should be received by the Embassy by 13 May 2019 (7:00 p.m. Japanese local time). Please don’t forget to put stamps (to be provided by the voter) on the envelope.
- Please monitor the Embassy’s website and Facebook Page for further announcements about the 2019 National Elections.
